Your privacy and confidentiality are very important to us. Our counselling office follows Alberta’s privacy laws, including the Health Information Act (HIA) and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), to protect your personal and health information.
We collect only the information necessary to provide you with quality care, and we will never share your information without your consent, except when required by law (for example, if there is risk of harm to yourself or others, or if records are subpoenaed by court order). All client records are securely stored and accessed only by authorized professionals.
You have the right to access your records, request corrections, and ask questions at any time about how your information is handled. If you have concerns about your privacy, you are encouraged to speak with your counsellor or contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
